beginning.

So many people keep blogs these days. Some use them just for journaling and don't share them with others. Some blog religiously and have turned their blogs into a sort of commercial venture. I hope this meets somewhere in the middle. I want to share my thoughts and inspirations, but my goal is not to win blog awards. While I admire the people who keep blogs like it's their job, I just can't make that time commitment. I'm thankful someone does, because how else would I spend my time?!

So what is this blog all about, then? I prefer to think of it as a digital sketchbook. Where I keep ideas and inspirations tucked away for later use. Where I make personal notes and record my own history. Where I talk about things I've experienced or learned. Documentation of life is very important to me.
Speaking of me...who am I? I'm an artist living and working in Memphis, Tennessee with my fiance Geoffrey and our furchild Watson. He's a little orange kitty who is growing less and less little as the days go by. We recently lost a family member, Twombly. She was a sweet little Russian Blue who had leukemia. I recently finished my BFA in Sculpture and Ceramics, and will be teaching special education in Memphis in the Fall through Teach For America. I work at Anthropologie. I  paint. I long for a clay studio to call my own.
So hopefully this blog will be what I need it to be. I'm sorry If I steal someone's images, I'll try to post links when I can. Some images I refer to have been saved on my computer for a while and I can't remember where I got them. Anyway, nice to meet you.
